The Origins of Grenache
The general consensus is that Garnacha / Grenache (French name) originated in the Aragón region of north-east Spain over 300 years ago. It has since spread worldwide, with over 450,000 acres planted. Yields from these vines can be large, but the best winemakers limit those yields to improve quality. Calatayud in Aragón is well regarded as a wine region that excels with this varietal, and that’s where this wine is from.
Tasting Notes
Medium+ garnet colour. Slow moving legs colour the glass. Seems viscous for the depth of colour. 15.5% ABV
Medium-low intensity nose. Smoke is predominant, with elements of cured meat, strawberry and cherry.
Medium weight, with a pleasant mouthfeel. Soft, medium tannin stays with you and is balanced nicely with the medium+ acidity.
The relatively delicate finish manages to be both complex and lasting, with flavours of cherry, strawberry, smoke, and spice.

Conclusion
This is a very drinkable middleweight, with a nice level of complexity and a lasting, soft finish. Definitely one I would recommend.
