Fabric Face Masks for Donation and Sale

Sewn by a Professional Seamstress

I’ve been putting in long hours in my sewing workroom lately, trying to help bridge the gap in the recent demand for face masks. 100% cotton seems to be the preferred choice. As such, I’ve been digging through my fabric stash, pulling out suitable fabrics with, hopefully, interesting and desirable colors and patterns.

Some of my face masks have elastic that goes around the back of the head. Some have fabric ties. I’ve created both to try and accommodate user preference. All of the masks have a pocket into which extra filtering materials of your choice may be inserted.

I pre-wash all the fabric I’m using in hot water and dry it on high heat to pre-shrink the fibers. It makes for a better end-product that won’t shrink and warp the first time you wash it. I’ve constructed each mask with one large box pleat that opens toward the back. It creates a nice cupped shape in the center to fit over the nose and chin. The narrow sides help it to lay flush to the face.

Donating to Essential Workers

I currently have over 100 masks available for pick-up in Paso Robles. I’m donating masks to our local SLO county essential workers and offering them for sale to everyone else ($10 each, sales tax included in the price). Please send me a message if you’re interested in obtaining one or more of my fabric masks.

Socially-Distanced Pick-Up

I have a rack placed out front where you can select from my available inventory while maintaining the recommended social distance. Be sure to let me know if you’re an essential worker as there is no charge for you to stop by to pick up masks for yourself and your co-workers.

In the regular course of business, I use a Square card reader for card payments. That, however, requires physical contact with payment cards and touch screens. For the sake of social distancing, I’ve set up a basic Square store for the purpose of contactless credit card payments. I also accept cash or payment via PayPal. If you’re old-school, checks are also okay.

I’m working on more every day. I’ll post photos on social media as I finish masks with different fabrics so I can share with everybody what I’ve got currently available.

Stay safe!

Jamie
